The Boston Patriots moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Greenville 84s on the road at 84s Field by a score of 5-1. Patriots designated hitter Manuel Carmona was named player of the game after he went 3-4 with a triple and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI. The win gives the Patriots a - advantage in the best-of- Round 1.
Roland Deschain, who is tied for 9th in the PL in triples with 3, helped out the Boston cause in the top of the seventh inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the shortstop went 1-5.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Carmona told reporters after the game.
