Game was big. So was Edmund Blackadder.
The Mississippi starter rose to the occasion at Dunkin Donuts Park today, earning player of the game honors after leading the Mockingbirds to a crucial 13-0 victory over the Boston Patriots. Blackadder threw 6 innings of shutout ball as the Mockingbirds won on the road to seize a - lead in the best-of- Round 1.
In the top of the ninth inning, designated hitter Josh Platt came through big-time for the Mockingbirds. With Mississippi leading 10-0, he belted a 3-run home run.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Platt. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
