Game was big. So was Miguel López.

The Vancouver starter rose to the occasion at The Thunder Dome today, earning player of the game honors after leading the Grey Wolves to a crucial 3-0 victory over the Richardson City Thundercats. López threw 7 innings of shutout ball as the Grey Wolves won on the road to seize a - lead in the best-of- Round 1.

Vancouver used the timely hitting of Juanito González to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Grey Wolves on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We won," López told assembled media after the game. "I guess that's all that really matters."
