Still Kicking: Greenville Cut Seattle Series Lead to - With Late Win
|
An all-important Game of the Third League Championship went into extra innings at 84s Field, with the Greenville 84s eventually emerging on top. Greenville has Danny Trautmann to thank, after the designated hitter went 3 for 7 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times in the 8-6 victory. The 84s are now one game away from the Round 2, holding a - lead in the best-of- series.
Doug Allerdale tagged a home run off Júlio Enríquez in the bottom of the 18th. His 2-run blast put the 84s on top, 8-6. In all, Allerdale had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 8.
"I felt good up there," said Trautmann. "I saw the ball well."
