Northern Lions BC Lose to Outlaws, 9-6
|
Nashville center fielder Juan Caro made his presence felt in the 9-6 Outlaws triumph over the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC. Caro went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Ángel Rosas, the winner, improved to 6-3. He held Thunder Bay to 4 earned runs on 5 hits over 6.1 innings, while racking up 11 strikeouts. Jorge Villanueva sewed up the save, his 11th.
Arnold Giroux, who is tied for 10th in the SL with a .295 batting average, chipped in for Nashville with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"This is a very good team," said Giroux. "We have the chance to do something special."
Nashville leads the Silver League by 2½ games.
