Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Deer
|
The Gibtown Elephants got a sterling performance from pitcher Dwayne Cockeram, but the Deer still prevailed, 3-1. Cockeram was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 10 innings of 4-hit ball. Sheridan now sits at 51-45, while Gibtown falls to 56-40.
Sheridan won the game in the bottom of the 12th inning. With two outs and Taro Kishita on the mound for Gibtown, right fielder Eugene Bradley hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Deer fans to their feet.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Sheridan manager Tommy Wade said.
