Baby Lakers Suffer 6-2 Loss to Warheads
|
The Amarillo Warheads topped the Bompton Baby Lakers, 6-2, with youngster Grant Hennessey playing a key role. Hennessey went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Warheads in the win. The winner was Benny Berry, who threw 86 pitches over 7 innings. The left-hander was charged with 2 runs on 8 hits. Getting the save was Charlie Bottari, his 21st.
Hennessey had an important at-bat with runners on 1st and 3rd in the top of the seventh, when he drew a walk. The Warheads went on to win.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Amarillo manager Javier Trujillo.
Amarillo is now 42-38, while Bompton is 42-38.
