Elephants Need Extra Frames to Get Past Harbor Whales
|
The Gibtown Elephants downed the Greenport Harbor Whales, 5-3, at Ballpark of Robbins. Pu-feng Zhou led the way, going 2-for-4 for Gibtown. Gibtown reliever Kevin MacIvor got the win, raising his record to 3-2. Félix Cordero was tagged with the loss. The Harbor Whales, now 32-43, have lost 5 in a row.
Zhou had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 3-1 curveball from Félix Cordero, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Elephants a 4-3 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Zhou.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Zhou. "And not try to do too much."
