Hotspur Academy Run Win Streak to 6
|
A 3-RBI performance from Frank Ray, who is tied for 3rd in the 3R with a .376 batting average, helped the Phoenix Hotspur Academy beat the Hudsonville Flanderses, 11-7. Phoenix reliever Jorge García was the winner. His record is now 4-0. Ken Bates took the loss. Luis Bruno got credit for the save for Phoenix. It was his 2nd of the year.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 2nd and one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when left fielder Peer Kattenberg, who is tied for 9th in the 3R with a .498 slugging percentage, reached on an error by the SS. The Hotspur Academy went on to win.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said Hotspur Academy manager Mike Evans. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
The Hotspur Academy, now 38-32, have won 6 in a row.
