Rhinos Get Close Win Over Elephants

Dwayne Cockeram pitched well, but the Gibtown Elephants still lost the game, falling 3-2 to the Redwood Rhinos at The Zoo. The winner was Redwood reliever Jo-hsi Ru, now 1-3. The loser was Dwayne Cockeram. Redwood currently is in last place in the Menard's R at 15-55.
Had Jorge Japón not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Japón hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Rhinos.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Japón said.
