Rhinos Continue Skid Thanks to Neef, Rookies
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of the 20-year old right fielder Eddie Neef, the Quebec Rookies stopped the Redwood Rhinos, 6-2. Quebec reliever Ernest Howe picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Keith Lawrence took the loss. Redwood now has a 8-game losing streak.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the top of the seventh inning. That's when second baseman Punisa Tukovic, who is tied for 10th in the 3R in stolen bases with 10, hit a single. The Rookies went on to win.
"Everyone's trying too hard," said losing manager Travis Miller. "If we learn to relax, we'll be fine."
