Canucks Continue Skid Thanks to Cobb, Otters
|
The exploits of left fielder Bill Cobb, who is tied for 8th in the SR in RBI with 56, helped the Tulsa Otters defeat the Moose Jaw Canucks, 8-2. Cobb was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice. Manuel Ruíz went 8.1 innings for Tulsa to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 2 earned runs. He scattered 10 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 4. His record improves to 6-8. The Canucks, now 32-62, have lost 4 straight.
Cobb contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Tulsa in the top of the third. With his team trailing 2-1, Cobb took a fastball from Sergio Morales and stroked the home run to left. His 13th home run of the season allowed the Otters to leap in front, 4-2.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Cobb said.
