Newcastle and Tulsa duked it out at Ballpark of Hughesville and the Mermen came out victorious.

Newcastle second baseman Roberto Díaz had a 4-RBI performance, which helped his team grab a 8-6 win over the Tulsa Otters. Rodger James was the winning pitcher. Over 5.2 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 10 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts.

Díaz had an important at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the third, when he hit a grand slam. The Mermen went on to win.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Newcastle manager Harris Bailey.

Newcastle is now 35-54.
