Beavers Win Thriller, 2-1
|
The Northwest Territory Beavers picked up a win at Beaver Town, knocking off the Moose Jaw Canucks, 2-1. Starting pitcher Jerry Cherry was an essential part of his team's success. Northwest Territory reliever Luca Boccasino was the winner. His record is now 1-3. Sergio Morales took the loss. The Canucks have now dropped 8 straight.
The Beavers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Jesús Beldad. For the game, Beldad was 3-5 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the tenth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 15th hit of the season gave Northwest Territory a 2-1 lead.
"Enjoyed this one," Beldad told the Northwest Territory Today. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
