Submarinos Edge Beavers, 10-9
|
The Northwest Territory Beavers got a superb performance from designated hitter Jesús Beldad, but the Amarillo Submarinos still won the game, 10-9. Beldad was named the player of the game despite the loss. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Amarillo reliever Roy Brown picked up the win to move to 6-2. Bailey Borrett suffered the loss. The Submarinos' win now puts them at 36-45.
In the bottom of the 6th, designated hitter Ricardo Urby gave Amarillo the lead when he hit a 2-run double. The Submarinos had been trailing 9-8, but the two-out double off Northwest Territory pitcher Bailey Borrett changed that -- and Amarillo went on to win.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Urby.
