Outlaws Knock Off 1837 BBC at Nashville Stadium
|
The first-place Nashville Outlaws welcomed Houston to Nashville Stadium.
The Nashville Outlaws topped the Houston 1837 BBC by the score of 6-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to third baseman Arnold Giroux. Giroux went 2 for 5 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Outlaws on the day. John Rigsby got the win, improving to 4-4. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 8 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 0 and walking 5.
Tied up with the 1837 BBC in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Outlaws got a boost from second baseman Greg Schiff. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Schiff saw a 1-1 fastball from Gus Osborne and hit a 2-run triple to break the stalemate and put Nashville on top, 4-2.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Nashville manager Ryan Naylor.
Nashville has now won 3 straight, while the 1837 BBC have lost 3 in a row.
