Fire Solve U-21, 3-2
|
Franklin Fire starter Jesús Cruz turned in a sterling performance against the Athletic Club KC U-21, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Cruz got the win, improving to 9-1. He allowed 6 hits and walked 1 over 8.2 innings. Cruz allowed 2 earned runs. Athletic Club KC is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 10 in a row.
The Fire got a big at-bat from designated hitter Kevin Davis. For the game, Davis went 1-3. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 30th hit of the season gave Franklin a 3-2 lead.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Cruz told the Franklin Times.
