The Montgomery Biscuits topped the Valley View Cougars, 7-3, in USPL Rookie action at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium. The player of the game was Montgomery pitcher and Medellín, Colombia native César Torres. The Biscuits' win now puts them at 26-66.

The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Bernardo Rodríguez came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Valley View pitcher Alberto Cruz, he hit a 1-1 fastball for a 2-run double. It was a game-changer, putting Montgomery on top, 5-3.

In postgame comments to the Montgomery Bulletin, Rodríguez said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
