Interns Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Biscuits
Capital Hill first baseman Tom Washington made his presence felt in the 7-6 Interns triumph over the Montgomery Biscuits. Washington was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The win was credited to Jason Long in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Washington had a game-changing single in the bottom of the ninth. On a 1-1 curveball from Bob Bly, he banged a run-scoring single to center, giving the Interns a 7-6 lead. It was the 107th hit of the year for Washington.
