Cougars Solve Snowpeople, 5-2
|
The Valley View Cougars topped the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, 5-2, in USPL Rookie action at Hillandale Grounds. The player of the game was Valley View pitcher Pepe Fontirroig. Fontirroig got the win, improving to 2-2. He allowed 9 hits and walked 1 over 8.1 innings. Fontirroig allowed no earned runs. The Snowpeople, now 38-41, have lost 5 in a row.
Matt Méndez helped out the Valley View cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. For the game, the designated hitter went 1-3 with a hit by pitch.
