The Montgomery Biscuits picked up a win at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium, knocking off the Winter Haven Sun Sox, 4-2. Starting pitcher César González, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Even with the win, the Biscuits have a dismal 19-59 record.
Had Víctor Ortíz not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Ortíz hit a 2-run double. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Biscuits.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," González said.
