The Surprise Shockers defeated the Crowley Cajuns, 6-5, at ïAbbots Ballpark. Surprise catcher Benjamin Blunsdon was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The winner was Huo-tu Cong in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Gerhard Karge took the loss. José Castro closed it out for his 9th save.

Had Will Hamilton not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Hamilton hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Shockers.

"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Blunsdon.

Surprise now owns a record of 42-34.
