Yates Rips Memphis for 5 Hits
|
Ricardo Yates put on a hitting clinic today as the Valley View Cougars dumped the Memphis Music 10-3 at Hillandale Grounds.
The Valley View center fielder made Memphis defenders earn their pay, lashing Memphis pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Yates said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Ricardo Yates singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, walked in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
In 39 games Yates is hitting .255 this season with 40 hits, 1 home run, 13 RBIs, 10 walks, .314 OBP and has scored 27 runs.
