Octopi Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Music
|
Behind a solid performance from catcher Sehinsah Al-Fanari, the Ogallala Octopi defeated the Memphis Music, 4-1. Al-Fanari was 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Octopi. Joe Smith picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 6-5. Wu-ti Xuan was tagged with the loss. Ogallala is now 34-38.
Al-Fanari had a game-changing double in the top of the eighth. On a 2-2 sinker from Wu-ti Xuan, he banged a 2-run double to left, giving the Octopi a 3-1 lead. It was the 8th double of the year for Al-Fanari.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Al-Fanari said.
