With catcher Benjamin Blunsdon leading the charge, the Surprise Shockers defeated the Fort Knox Centennial, 3-2, at ïAbbots Ballpark. Blunsdon, who is tied for 9th in the PR in hits with 85, went 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI. Surprise reliever Matt Koller was the winner. His record is now 3-1. The losing pitcher was Raúl Reyes. The Shockers, at 40-31, have now won 5 straight.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when first baseman Marcos García, who is tied for 5th in the PR with a .356 batting average, hit a single. The Shockers went on to win.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said García.
