Cajuns Squelch Octopi Offense in Shutout Win
|
The Crowley Cajuns got a rain-soaked win over the Ogallala Octopi at Titans Ballpark.
The Crowley Cajuns got a magnificent performance from pitcher Jeffery Johnston, who stifled the Ogallala offense en route to a 3-0 Cajuns win at Titans Ballpark. Jesús Zúñiga sewed up the save, his 4th.
Matt Howell's at-bat in the bottom of the seventh was significant for the Cajuns. Coming to the plate with the bases loaded and Crowley leading 1-0, the left fielder hit a 2-run single.
"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said Johnston. "Successful pitchers do it."
Crowley is now 35-34.
