Visscher Slaps 5 Hits
|
Flanderses first baseman Philip Visscher had his way with Gibtown pitching today at Field of the Toros and mauled them for 5 hits in 6 at-bats. His efforts were all in vain, though, as the Elephants ruined his great day by toppling the Flanderses, 7-6.
"I had a great day, but you've got to give Gibtown credit, they did what they had to do to win," he told reporters after the game. "They weren't very impressed with my 5 hits."
"Oh, we noticed what Visscher did today," Elephants skipper Augusto González said. "He had quite a game. I can tell you this, we will pitch him a little differently the next time we face him."
Philip Visscher doubled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 10th.
This year Visscher has hit at a .312 clip with 15 RBIs, 3 home runs and 25 runs scored.
