Baby Lakers Lose, 8-5, at Wrigley Field
|
Gibtown and Bompton got after it at Wrigley Field.
The Gibtown Elephants knocked off the Bompton Baby Lakers, 8-5, at Wrigley Field. Emerson O'Drunen, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Gibtown won. The designated hitter was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Michael White earned the win for Gibtown. He lasted 7.1 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 7 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 2-1. Earning his 4th save for Gibtown was Taro Kishita.
Phillam Torralba had a clutch at-bat with no one out in the bottom of the seventh for the Elephants. Coming up with runners on 1st and 2nd and Gibtown trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run double.
"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Torralba told a Gibtown Citizen reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
Gibtown is now riding a 3-game win streak.
