Harbor Whales Win Thriller, 7-6
|
Greenport first baseman Aaron Day had a 4-RBI performance, which helped his team grab a 7-6 win over the Redwood Rhinos. Greenport reliever Orinosuke Sato picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Jesús Nasario shouldered the loss. Greenport has now won 3 straight, while the Rhinos have lost 4 in a row.
Day had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a 2-2 slider from Jesús Nasario, he banged a 3-run home run to right-center, giving the Harbor Whales a 7-6 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Day.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Greenport manager Lockwood Rose.
