Baby Lakers Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
The Bompton Baby Lakers scored a 3-2 win versus the Sheridan Deer at Field of the Browns. Bompton pitcher Guido Baldee nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Baldee, now 1-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 10, walking 2, and allowing 2 earned runs. Tuna Altuna earned his 7th save in 8 tries.
The Baby Lakers got a big at-bat from right fielder Ned Lyons. For the game, Lyons was 1-4. In the bottom of the seventh, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 35th hit of the season gave Bompton a 3-2 lead.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Bompton manager Chua-kah Liu.
The Baby Lakers, at 22-11, lead by one game in their division.
