Loss to Rhinos Extends Gibtown Losing Streak
|
Redwood Rhinos starter Pedro Montáñez turned in an exceptional performance against the Gibtown Elephants at The Zoo, resulting in a Redwood win, 3-1. Ivan Curuvija was credited with the save for Redwood, his 1st of the season. Gibtown now has a 6-game losing streak.
The Rhinos beat the Elephants in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Tony Randolph produced in the bottom of the fifth. Batting against Gibtown pitcher Jonathan Lentz, Randolph gave his team a 3-1 lead when he hit a 2-run single.
"We've hit a rough patch right now," said Gibtown skipper Augusto González.
