Juan Rodríguez subdued the Gibtown Elephants, 2-0, pitching a 6-hit gem for the Redwood Rhinos at The Zoo.

"He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Redwood skipper Travis Miller said afterward.

Rodríguez registered 7 strikeouts and issued 2 walks in his superb performance.

"We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Gibtown manager Augusto González after the defeat.

To this point in the season, Rodríguez shows a 1-3 record, 6 starts, 38.2 innings, 31 strikeouts and a 5.12 ERA.
