Hennessey Hits 2 home runs in Warheads Win
|
Amarillo and Greenport duked it out at Ballpark of Robbins and the Warheads came out victorious.
Amarillo designated hitter Grant Hennessey made his presence felt in the 8-5 Warheads triumph over the Greenport Harbor Whales. Hennessey belted 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Amarillo reliever Lorenzo Carregosa picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Camillo Vialli was saddled with the loss. The save went to Charlie Bottari, his 5th this season.
Hennessey had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 0-2 fastball from Camillo Vialli, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Warheads a 8-5 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Hennessey.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Hennessey.
Amarillo now sits at 14-10, while Greenport falls to 13-11.
