Harbor Whales Beat Baby Lakers in 11
|
Getting a good performance from third baseman Cal Ellis, the Greenport Harbor Whales defeated the Bompton Baby Lakers, 9-8. Ellis went 2 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Harbor Whales. With the win, Greenport pushes its record to 11-8.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the 11th inning. With two out, Muoi Hoan hit a 1-2 cutter from Alex Ives for a run-scoring single. It put Greenport in front, 9-8.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Bompton manager Chua-kah Liu. "But we decided not to take it."
