Elephants, Akimi Blank Sheridan
|
Said Akimi subdued the Sheridan Deer, 3-0, pitching a 1-hit gem for the Gibtown Elephants at Wrigley Field.
"He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Gibtown skipper Augusto González said afterward.
Akimi registered 11 strikeouts and issued no walks in his superb performance.
"We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Sheridan manager Tommy Wade after the defeat.
