Warheads Solve Hotspur Academy, 6-4
|
Fans who gathered at Ballpark of Fresno saw a good contest between the Amarillo Warheads and Phoenix Hotspur Academy.
The Amarillo Warheads overcame a good performance by Phoenix third baseman Jesse McCoy to knock off Phoenix, 6-4, at Ballpark of Fresno. McCoy went 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Wilbert Gallegos nailed down his 4th save.
Had Grant Hennessey not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Hennessey hit a 2-run double. That made the score 6-4, in favor of the Warheads.
"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Hennessey.
The win gives the Warheads a record of 6-3.
