U-21 Lose, 7-5, at Newcastle Stadium

The Athletic Club KC U-21 got a superb performance from designated hitter Howard Carpentier. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Newcastle. The Mermen won the game, 7-5. In spite of the loss, Carpentier was named the player of the game. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The slumping U-21 have lost 6 straight.
Barsati Saraf, who is tied for 4th in the SR with a .326 batting average, aided the Newcastle cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the center fielder went 1 for 3, while adding 3 RBI.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Saraf told a Newcastle Citizen reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
