Massingham hits 2 home runs, Revolvers Move to 39-25
|
The Santa Fe Revolvers bested the Franklin Fire by a score of 6-1, with third baseman Sterling Massingham getting the main credit. On the day, Massingham went 3-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Revolvers. Felipe Deleón was the winner. Over 7.2 innings, he allowed 1 run on 4 hits, with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts. The 4th-place Revolvers have won 7 consecutive games.
Had Sean Cox not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Cox hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Revolvers.
"Every win gets us closer to our ultimate goal," said Massingham.
