Victory Pushes Revolvers Record to 27-18
|
It was a good time at Ballpark of Day Valley, where fans came to watch the Moose Jaw Canucks and Santa Fe Revolvers get after it.
The Santa Fe Revolvers topped the Moose Jaw Canucks, 8-2, with youngster Illarion Podmarkov playing a key role. Podmarkov went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Revolvers in the win. Gerardo Hernández got the win, improving to 1-1. He held the Canucks to 2 earned runs on 5 hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 3.
Luis Benítez chipped in for Santa Fe, stroking a crucial run-scoring double in the bottom of the first inning. For the game, the designated hitter was 2 for 4 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"We played hard and won," said Podmarkov. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
Today's win puts Santa Fe at 27-18, while Moose Jaw falls to 17-28.
