Miranda Delivers Walk-Off Win for Uruguayans
|
Germantown overcame a superlative game from Kini Grinter to beat Newcastle, 3-2. The Newcastle pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball. The Uruguayans improved to a lofty 31-12.
Late in the game, shortstop Carlos Miranda had a big at-bat for Germantown. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring triple off Francisco Aragón. The play gave the Uruguayans a 3-2 lead.
"I was a little disappointed," said Newcastle manager Harris Bailey. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
