Mermen Get Past Northwest Territory for 5-4 Win
|
The Newcastle Mermen picked up a win at Newcastle Stadium, knocking off the Northwest Territory Beavers, 5-4. Starting pitcher Francisco Aragón, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. The Mermen now have a record of 15-26 with the win over Northwest Territory.
Juan Ocasio tagged a home run off Terry Hall in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run blast put the Mermen on top, 5-4. In all, Ocasio had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.
"Nothing fazes Francisco," said Newcastle manager Harris Bailey.
