Uruguayans Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
Behind a solid performance from shortstop Carlos Miranda, the Germantown Uruguayans defeated the Amarillo Submarinos, 3-0. Miranda was 4-4 with 4 singles for the Uruguayans. Germantown reliever Robert Karabanov was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Sean Halls took the loss for Amarillo. Min-chor Chon picked up the save, his 3rd.
Meester Gobbles-Rooster, who leads the SR in home runs with 5, chipped in for Germantown with a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
Miranda told a Germantown Daily reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
Germantown, at 14-2, has sizzled in the early going.
