The Amarillo Submarinos defeated the Newcastle Mermen, 5-4, at Terriers Ballpark. Amarillo second baseman Chun-hwan Han was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 2 for 3 with a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Sean Halls earned the win for Amarillo. He lasted 5.1 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 6 hits, while striking out 2. With the win, he raised his record to 1-1. The Submarinos, with just their 4th win so far in 2035, have yet to catch fire.
Han contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for Amarillo in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Han took a fastball from Rodger James and stroked the double to left. His 1st double of the season allowed the Submarinos to leap in front, 3-1.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Han said.
