Beavers Prevail, 4-3, Over Moose Jaw
|
Northwest Territory beat Moose Jaw on the strength of starter Jeff McDermott's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a 4-3 win. In 5.2 innings, McDermott surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Terry Hall picked up the save, his 1st.
The Beavers got a big at-bat from third baseman Victor Haley. For the game, Haley was 1 for 3, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the second, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 2nd hit of the season gave Northwest Territory a 3-1 lead.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Haley told a Northwest Territory Today reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
The Canucks fall to 4-6 and continue their wobbly start to the 2035 season.
