Otters Cut Down Mermen, 8-4
|
A 3-RBI performance from Kjartan Einarsson, who is rated as the 72nd best prospect by BNN, helped the Tulsa Otters beat the Newcastle Mermen, 8-4. Manuel Ruíz earned the win for Tulsa. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 7 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 1-0. Rajko Andjelic recorded his 1st save for Tulsa.
Einarsson contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Tulsa in the top of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Einarsson took a fastball from Shiki Yamamoto and stroked the home run to left. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Otters to leap in front, 2-1.
