Ogallala beat Montgomery on the strength of starter Moriz Gaidamakin's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 5-2 win. Joe Smith, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save. Ogallala now has a 5-game win streak.

The fans who came in support of the Octopi were pleased with the outcome. It was what they had hoped for when they passed through the turnstiles at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium.

"The vibe's good," said Ogallala manager Albert Emery. "We've got to keep it going."
