The inspired effort of Valley View catcher Myron Richardson was not enough to prevent a 8-6 loss to the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople. Richardson went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The Snowpeople now have a mark of 30-26.

Carlos Moreno drew 1 walk for Ellesmere Island. The 21-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Juan Bojórquez. It was his 16th RBI of the season.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Moreno, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
