Coppens 'Lights Out' in Montgomery Win
|
Ogallala had no answer for Montgomery Biscuits hurler Denie Coppens, who overwhelmed Octopi hitters as the Biscuits coasted to a 8-1 victory. Montgomery is now 8-20, Ogallala 10-18.
Coppens, a native of Ermelo, The Netherlands, was dealing all game. He kept Ogallala hitters off-balance, while giving the Biscuits 8.2 quality innings. Coppens threw 118 pitches, allowing 5 hits and striking out 12.
"We didn't put up much resistance," said losing manager Albert Emery.
