Interns Cut Down Cougars, 9-3
|
The Capital Hill Interns relied on the hitting of second baseman Chris Hall to stop the Valley View Cougars, 9-3. For the game, Hall went 1 for 3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Hwa-pyung Yi picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-2. He struck out 7 in 5 innings. Picking up the save was Klaus de Lijser, his 1st.
Hall had a key at-bat for Capital Hill early in the game. With the bases loaded, he hit a grand slam home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and gave Capital Hill an early 4-0 lead.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Hall said.
The Interns, now 11-5, have been playing some good baseball.
