Biscuits Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
Montgomery rode a fine outing from starter Todd Denton to victory over the Ogallala Octopi at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium. The final score was 6-2. Denton, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run. The Octopi, at 4-10, have stumbled out of the gate.
Dana George was a key contributor to the win for the Biscuits. In the bottom of the fourth with two out, the light-hitting third baseman stroked a single to right. He went 2 for 4 with a double.
"I thought we played a nice game," Denton told the Montgomery Bulletin. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
